Houses

Each pupil belongs to a house, and it is here that they live, relax, sleep, work and make friends.  In charge of each house are two Houseparents, who are responsible for the welfare of all the pupils in their care.  They are helped in this by a Deputy Houseparent and an assistant tutor, who are sometimes resident in the house, as well as a team of visiting tutors.  Every child has a personal tutor who keeps a watchful eye on his or her progress, offering advice and help where necessary.

There are eight houses. In the junior school, boys are in La Baita and girls in La Casa. In the senior school, from the 3rd form upwards, there are three girls houses, Clairmont, Exeter and Le Cerf, and three boys houses, Alpina, Belvedere and Delaware. The pupils remain in the same house throughout their time in the senior school. The houses are all within a few minutes walk of each other and provide common rooms and dining facilities as well as accommodation for the boys and girls, who sleep not in dormitories but in groups of no more than 4 in the privacy of study bedrooms.
