Delaware
Delaware boys are thoroughly involved in school life and give their all to their academic work, sport, drama, music and expeditions , as well as many other pursuits and activities. The House encourages self-discipline and a sense of responsibility, and aims to create an environment which allows each individual to thrive and succeed. Parents and families are an important part of the small community and are warmly welcomed at house events and at any other time that they are able to visit.
Delaware is the most recently built boarding house at Aiglon and provides the boys with an ideal place to call home. Andrey Borissyuk, Delaware’s House Captain is effusive in his description of Delaware; “Delaware provides a comfortable home, with its ideal location on the edge of college and its brand new facilities. Houses at Aiglon don't come any better. In times when you are seeking peace and quiet or just a moment to yourself, the rooms offer a comfortable bed and living space. In contrast, the games room and Common Room are the core social areas of the house, offering a pool table, table tennis, large plasma TV and plenty of space.”
In order to encourage house camaraderie, Mr and Mrs Boyd-Williams, house parents of Delaware, help to organise a range of house events and trips are organised yearly. Most recently the Delaware boys have taken part in weekly house BBQs, a Delaware open house charity music evening, a charity basketball tournament, as well as house trips to Fun Planet, Aquaparc and the Cinema. In addition to their involvement in the school expeditions programme, Delaware boys have enjoyed time together as a house on ski days and camping expeditions, engaging in a variety of outdoor activities.
