Round Square Regional & International Conferences
In October 2010, seven students and two staff members Mr Willett, Mr Chalcraft, Otto Lamsam, Lewis McDonald, Alessandro Barel Di Sant’ Albano, Dara Al-Sulayman, Sara Tamimi, Tara Sahni and Virginia Achenza attended the Round Square Global Conference in Pattay, Thailand. This was attended by 800 people and 600 were students from Round Square Schools across the globe. The theme of the conference was ‘we walk together.’
Experiences that made an impact on staff and students included working with HIV orphans, AIDS victims in the last stages of life, working in a support centre for ex-prostitutes, working in a eco-friendly school and meeting students from different cultures. It was a great opportunity for our students to meet and learn from the Starehe boys who attended the conference. This amazingly academic school in Nairobi is one that each Aiglon house raises funds for in order to sponsor 6 students. Next year’s Conference will be held at Wellington College, UK on 17th – 23rd October, 2011.
