Aiglon NY Benefit 2010
From Rana Sahni ('79, P'12) 1st VP ACAEA, FOAC-US
Dear All,
Please see below the digital photo album of the Aiglon NY Benefit 2010, which was held in New York City on Saturday October 23rd ....... It was a long day full of events, interaction, old memories coming alive, and so much love surrounding it all ..... The Benefit was in support of the John Corlette Scholarship Endowment Fund, whereby we are raising funds to support scholarship students, and each time one is announced it will be in perpetuity ... Thus, all the support will benefit generations of children and Aiglon itself.
Thank you to all those who attended, generously bought tickets at all levels even though they could not attend, donated towards the expenses of the Parsons and Duncan Maxwell, as well as the donors towards the silent and live auctions. Yes, we broke all records for a Benefit for Aiglon, and we will continue our march forward and upwards .....
We were very honoured to have Chairman Mark Elliott, Head Master Richard McDonald, Director of External Relations Mark Silverstein, and Alumni Relations Manager Rachel Davies be a part of our Aiglon centric day in NY .... FOAC US started a new tradition and we brought over through additional contributions Philip and Bibi Parsons who received the FOAC US 2010 Medal of Honour for their years of stewardships and ambassadorship of Aiglon, and Duncan Maxwell who received the FOAC US 2010 Staff Medal for his tenure as the longest staff member at Aiglon ....
We started the day at 12 noon at the private dining room of Park Avenue Autumn (changes name with each season) restaurant for Mont Blanc ticket holders and our special invited guests ... This was generously hosted by Natalia and Sebastian Echavarria (96) in honor of the Parsons. .... Our amazing gift bags were the courtesy of the Swiss Consulate (hard cover book on Switzerland, Switzerland Alumni tee shirts, Caran D'Ache pens, and a Swiss Flag pin) Lindt Chocolates, and a trio of Orlane Paris cosmetic creams.
At 6pm we then had a pre event Cocktail Reception at the Swiss Ambassadorial Residence on Park Avenue for all Chamossaire and higher ticket holders ..... We were extremely privileged to have been treated to the incredible singing of an Aria by Shana Grossman ... Her voice and presence lit up the silent room mesmerizing each person present ...
We then proceeded to Opia for the main event ..... The Silver Sponsor for the evening was the GGMC Parking (Grossman Family - P'11) .... What great fun with great food, friendly and elegant people, and a spirited auction ...... The cross section of alumni was stellar with the oldest alumni having graduated in 1964 and the youngest one in 2003, with one current student who graduates in 2011 ..... Current Parents, Former and current Governors, Alumni, Sudents, all mixed together celebrating our beloved Aiglon .......
This gives you a flavor the day and evening, and the pictures will transport you as if you were with us .... See you at the next Aiglon Benefit (which incidentally are being planned for different countries and regions of the world for 2011) ....
Please click on View Photos below, which will take you to the Kodak Gallery page with the slide show of the pictures .... Please do wait a few minutes as there are just over 350 pictures ......
