VPN Policy
Prerequisites
If you have any problems connecting please make sure that you have latest Sun Java runtime environment installed on your machine.
Only authorized users may use the VPN services provided they comply with the requirements of this policy stated below.
An authorized user is someone with a valid and enabled account on the Aiglon system AND someone that is either
- A current Aiglon student
- A current member of Staff with an active contract with the school.
- Selected individuals and societies selected by Computer Services
Terms and Conditions
By starting a VPN session with Aiglon College, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions.
1. It is your responsibility to ensure that unauthorized use or users are not allowed access to Aiglon's Network. To do this, you have the following responsibilities:
- Do NOT at any stage leave your session unattended.
- Make sure nobody watches you as you type in your password.
- Under no circumstance whatsoever share your password, not even your with your spouse, partner, children, parents or any other person. Not even Computer Services.
- Make sure you log off once you are done, and close the internet browser.
2. Any computers connecting to the network via VPN MUST be configured with
- An up-to-date anti-virus system.
- An operating system with all the latest updates installed.
3. Users will be automatically disconnected from the VPN after thirty minutes of inactivity. Users may logon again to reconnect to the network. Pings or other artificial network processes are NOT to be used to keep the connection open or active.
4. Periodic audits of VPN access will be conducted by Computer Services to verify the actual user connected to the VPN, and that their account has not been compromised.
5. Any user found breaking these terms and conditions may immediately be denied access to the system.

6. Please be reminded that VPN Access is a privilege and not a right. Interruption to the service may occur at any time and may be outside the Computer Services Teams' control (Internet Outage / Power Cuts etc.). So please save frequently.
This policy may be updated from time to time without prior notice.
