CIS/NEASC Re-Accreditation Success
Aiglon College is delighted to announce that it has been awarded re-accreditation by both the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). The detailed report follows a visit by an accreditation team composed of a wide range of expert international educators. Their report highlights many strengths of the school, namely..
The many areas of strength which have emerged over the years derive from the commitment and hard work of an enthusiastic and well-qualified staff, dedicated to the success of the School and the welfare of its students.
The School places very high importance on the quality of pastoral care and support for individual students.
There are real strengths in guidance and counselling, in health services and in the provision of learning support.
The House teams are outstanding in their level of care.
Aiglon provides a very wide range of opportunities to encourage its students to think and act within a broad perspective. In addition to the diversity of nationalities of the students, we have seen much evidence of inspiring intercultural activities and international events.
The students are proud of their School and so they should be. Throughout our visit, we have seen many examples of outstanding courtesy, caring and helpfulness among all age groups as well as celebration of the multicultural nature of the student population.
Expeditions at Aiglon permeate every facet of the school community. The Visiting Team recognises the expedition programme as perhaps the most distinctive aspect of an Aiglon education.
The very nature of the expeditions curriculum allows for individual students to discover themselves and the skills that are needed for lifelong learning. Independence, self-confidence, leadership, planning, time management, teamwork, and the courage to attempt new challenges are all root characteristics of the expeditions programme.
The School curriculum is further strengthened by Aiglon's alpine environment, a valuable and stimulating resource which provides the foundation for a healthy lifestyle as well as effective physical education. In line with the Guiding Principles, the curriculum is enriched by an extensive range of activities.
