Music Rehearsal Weekend - 'Cabaret' Band
Leaving immediately after lessons on Friday 13th January and returning back to Aiglon at 07h30 on the Monday morning, 3 willing musicians (plus Mr Bell and Mr Gaston) ventured forth into the snowy climes of Etiez (near Verbier) for a full-on weekend of music making. The purpose? These would be the stalwart members of the band for Aiglon’s forthcoming production of ‘Cabaret’ which is being performed in February, and an intense burst of rehearsal time was undoubtedly the best way forwards.
After a quick supper, rehearsals began in earnest on the Friday evening and continued all morning, afternoon and evening on the Saturday. To blow away the cobwebs and to take full advantage of the local area, we headed off to the pistes of Verbier for a morning of skiing/snowboarding on the Sunday morning before returning for a late lunch and a further 4 hours of rehearsals, taking us into early evening once more.
The weekend was an incredible success and saw both staff and students not only enjoying each other’s company, but working tirelessly and enthusiastically as a music team making a tremendous amount of progress with the show’s musical score.
