ESL Provision
An extensive ESL programme allows students from around the world to access an Aiglon education, bringing their English up to the standard necessary to thrive in the demanding environment of the IB Diploma programme in the Sixth Form.
A mixture of class and individual ESL support, focusing on the needs of both living in an English speaking community and working in an English curriculum, ensures that students joining the school at a variety of ages are quickly brought up to the required standard, and are integrated into the main curriculum when appropriate. The ESL department is able to offer specialist classes up to the 3rd year as well as a modified teaching programme from BPF. After the 3rd year, ESL students are encouraged to embark on learning from a mainstream English curriculum, but students continue to receive support from the ESL team.
Jane Stone is ESL Coordinator and manages an excellent team of qualified and experienced staff who work together in order to support students who use English as a second language. Please follow the links to read the experiences of two students, Anna Kosenko and Emma Okamoto who arrived at Aiglon with basic English skills and who are now studying for their A Levels.
