Economics and Business and Management

At Aiglon, Economics and Business and Management are currently taught as part of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in the Sixth Form. They are both popular subjects and the number of students taking the subjects is around 50 in the Lower and Upper Sixth.

Business and Management and Economics are practical, applied and exciting subjects. Principles and theories are explained, investigated and are related to everyday life within a business or economic context. Students can clearly identify the relevance that these subjects will have in their lives after school. Economists focus primarily on the decision making of individuals, firms and governments, whilst Business and Management students examine the internal actions of firms in more detail. The department strives to engender independent learning, whilst supporting students to achieve to the maximum of their capabilities. The subjects are taught in well resourced classrooms in La Dependence.
