Philosophy
Students studying IB Philosophy will be able to:
- Present their answers in an organized way using clear and precise language appropriate to philosophy
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of philosophical issues arising from the themes and texts studied
- Identify relevant philosophical issues arising from the themes and texts studied
- Critically discuss a wide range of philosophical issues and identify and analyse relevant counter-arguments
- Develop philosophically appropriate arguments in a coherent way and express a relevant personal response to key issues
Students studying A Level Philosophy will be able to;
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant issues arising in the themes or texts selected for study. Show an awareness of the central debates and relevant philosophical positions and of the nature of arguments employed.
- Interpret and analyse philosophical argument, applying relevant points and examples.
- Assess arguments and counter-arguments. Construct and evaluate arguments in order to form reasoned judgements.
