More than a Goal

Our Commitment

At Aiglon, sustainability is not just a goal—it is a commitment we integrate into our daily lives.

Our school is nestled at 1,200 metres in the Swiss Alps, where nature is not just our backdrop but an integral part of our daily life. Here, we embrace a holistic approach to education, nurturing the development of mind, body and spirit through principles of challenge, respect, responsibility, diversity, and service.

This ethos extends beyond us to include the environment and communities of which we are privileged to be a part. Our community approach to sustainability is rooted in the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The school’s aims to put sustainability at the heart of all decision-making processes, transforming how Aiglon delivers education. As both an education institute and an employer, Aiglon is committed to inspire the community to make positive contributions to the planet.

We are committed to promoting a solution-oriented approach through action and education. By integrating regenerative and sustainable systems into our school, we aim to set an example for our community and beyond. Our responsibility is to prepare our students as conscientious global citizens, ready to address the challenges of tomorrow with creativity, resilience, and a deep respect for our planet.

Sustainability in Education

As a learning institution, sustainability must be integrated both into Aiglon's operation, but also its pedagogy. From junior to senior school, our academic and co-curricular programmes emphasise the importance of respecting our environment. Given our location –students see the real-life impact of sustainable practices both inside and outside the classroom. From geography to science, as well as expeditions to activities, students and teachers engage in discussions on sustainability challenges and actively participate in community projects.

Our Approach

Aiglon in Action

Our commitment is integrated into five categories: infrastructure, resources, mobility, wellbeing and student action.
