4th Swiss Schools Sustainability Summit

The Swiss Schools Sustainability Summit is a student-led event aimed at promoting sustainable practices across international schools based in Switzerland.

The Swiss Schools Sustainability Summit 2025, under the theme ‘Rewilding Our Future: Local Actions for Global Biodiversity', will be hosted on 18 November on campus. This year’s summit will bring together students from international schools across Switzerland, alongside environmentalists, educators, and sustainability advocates, to explore how local initiatives can make a global impact.

Delegate arrival and check-in

Welcome to Aiglon! Students will guide visiting delegates to registration and refreshments 

09.00 - 09.15 Opening Welcome
Aiglon student hosts introduce the day’s theme and outline the Summit challenge:
“What actions can your school take to rewild and restore biodiversity?”
09.15 - 09:45

Icebreaker activity 
An engaging student-led session to help delegates connect, collaborate, and set the tone for the day.

09:45 - 10:45

Student Talk: “Biodiversity and the Need for Data"
Student speakers explore why biodiversity matters, and how technology and data can help us protect it.

10:30 - 11:00 Morning break 
11:15 - 12:00 Workshop: Monitoring Biodiversity at Aiglon
Students use a digital biodiversity-tracking app — learning tools they can apply at their own schools.
12:00 - 13:00

Lunch
A sustainable, locally inspired lunch prepared by Aiglon Catering.

13:00 - 14:00

Keynote address 
Renowned South African conservationist and long-distance runner Paul Gardiner will discuss rewilding, conservation, and his documentary series Natural Born Runners.

14:00 - 15:00 Breakout Sessions: Designing for Change
Cross-school collaboration sessions to design practical, measurable biodiversity projects.
15:00 - 15:30 Student feedback & presentation of ideas
Student Presentations & Feedback
Each team presents their school action plan (2 minutes each).
🏆 Prize awarded to the most innovative and impactful proposal.
15:30 - 16:00  Tea and Snacks
An informal tea for delegates and students to share reflections and connect.
16:00 Summit Ends
