Why study at Aiglon?

Aiglon is an international school based on a British style of education. Here, education is based on the balanced development of mind, body, and spirit, following the vision of our founder, John Corlette, who believed in nurturing balanced personal growth. We want to realise each student’s full potential and many of our students go on to attend world-class universities.

Aiglon is a school for adventurers, where the mountain is our classroom and where skiing, expeditions and outdoor education are a part of our daily lives. The school is an international hub, with an amazing diversity of nationality and language – here among students who are tomorrow’s global citizens and leaders.

Life at Aiglon has many unique features, including the morning meditation. These daily talks were introduced by John Corlette, and are designed to inspire personal reflection at the start of each school day. Life here encourages action through service and leadership, and teaches students to look beyond the material world to find permanent, meaningful values in life. That is why all students contribute to their community, which might include anything from becoming a House Prefect to volunteering locally, competing in fundraising events, or attending the International Round Square conference.

We make sure our students are fully prepared for adult life and the modern world. From the safety of our secure Alpine location, we encourage our students to develop the competence, self-discipline and inner strength they need to succeed in the world.

And that is why an Aiglon education seeks to develop the whole person, both inside and outside the classroom. We help each individual to become, in the words of our founder, “truly and intensely alive”.
