Summer School 2025: From Mountain Adventures to Robotics
Summer 2025 marks another milestone for the Aiglon Summer School, as over 500 students - a record number - aged 8-16 years and representing over 60 countries will join us on campus in Chesières. Our programme runs from 21 June to 01 August.
Established in 1975, Aiglon College's Summer School has been a hub of memorable experiences for thousands of international students.
“It’s always so wonderful to see both new and familiar family names on the Summer School register – and to see the joy of alumni returning to Aiglon, perhaps for the first time, when they pick up and drop off their children!” says Ms. Fiona Tweedie, Director of Summer School. “It’s the perfect place for students from all over the world to come together, challenge themselves, learn new skills, have tons of fun, and make some memories themselves” she continued.
Mind, Body & Spirit: A Summer in Harmony
Aligned with our Guiding Principles, the summer school programme encourages intellectual curiosity, physical vitality, spiritual growth and creating lots of friendships:
- Mind flourishes in our diverse morning courses, from artificial intelligenceI and robotics workshops to creative writing, languages, leadership, and even entrepreneurship. Every session encourages curiosity, creativity, and academic confidence.
- Body comes alive in the afternoon, through windsurfing, indoor skydiving, swimming, mountain biking, golf, and football, all immersed in the stunning Alpine landscape. We are especially proud to host three signature programmes:
- Kickoff, our exclusive football training experience with Manchester City Football Club
- Adventure, delivered in partnership with the Bear Grylls Survival Academy
- Ride, our mountain biking course set against some of the most spectacular trails.
- Spirit is awakened in the moments between, on two-night wilderness expeditions, around the glow of campfires, and through the shared experience of living and learning with peers from across the globe. These moments build resilience, reflection, and a deep sense of belonging.
An International Team
Our Summer School staff team, drawn from across Aiglon’s full-time staff, Aiglon alumni, as well as global experts, brings depth, continuity, and above all, care. Many staff have returned from the main school term, weaving a tapestry of trust and cultural fluency across boarding houses and daily campus life. Their mission: to know each student by name, to guide, support, and inspire.
This summer, Aiglon welcomes Tony Shelley as the new Head of Boarding, a dedicated role created to bring consistency, and cohesion across the school’s residential life. With experience in both term-time and summer boarding, Tony’s focus is on ensuring that every student, whether boarding full-time or participating as a day student, feels fully integrated and supported within the wider community.
"What makes Aiglon’s Summer School so special is the way it blends world-class activities with a deeply unified culture,” he reflects. “Whether students are kayaking, learning survival skills with the Bear Grylls Survival Academy, or taking part in our Ride mountain biking course, everything is designed to be therapeutic, uplifting and ultimately inclusive. I like how even those who come from different sports each day can come back to shared boarding houses as one integrated summer school.” His role also extends to safeguarding, where clear procedures and restorative practices underpin a safe, welcoming environment for all, led by our Designated Safeguarding Lead, Remi Gravier. “It’s about helping students feel seen, heard, and empowered,” Tony adds. “That’s what a great summer experience should be.”
New Spaces, Same Spirit
This summer marks the debut of several exciting new facilities, enhancing the Aiglon experience while staying true to our values. Students will be among the very first to enjoy our brand-new on campus padel court, introducing one of the world’s fastest-growing sports to the Alpine setting.
Mealtimes will take on a fresh new rhythm as we open the doors to Aiglon’s new school restaurant, located in the Moghadam Campus Hub, a bright, modern space designed for community, connection, and nutritious, global cuisine. These additions reflect our commitment to evolving without losing sight of what matters most: time together, on the mountain. Dinner is an important aspect of summer school where students eat meals together in their assigned houses, fostering a sense of community that is such a vital part of boarding life at Aiglon.
Leaving with More Than Memories
The experience doesn’t conclude with farewell gatherings or merit celebrations, it truly begins when students return home carrying new confidence, lifelong friendships, and a broadened global perspective. Each student departs with an illustrated progress report, capturing the breadth of their journey and the spark of what lies ahead. Our aim therefore, is for every student to leave with a sense of who they are becoming: curious, capable, and connected. We hope they return home not just changed, but inspired, carrying with them the memories that will continue to shape them long after summer ends.
