Morning Courses

Balancing a desire to continue learning and the need for an enjoyable summertime experience, Aiglon's Summer School morning courses offer the opportunity to both learn, and enjoy the process!

Each day at Aiglon's Summer School begins with morning coursework. Now, you have even greater variety in your course selection. Beyond just intensive language programmes, take a look below at the variety of courses offered for both "The Classic", "The Challenger" and "The Eagle" programmes. A different course is selected for each week of attendance, to gain a wider understanding of a variety of topics. (Language courses can be taken consecutively throughout any and all weeks of attendance.)

"The Classic" Programme Morning Course Options

Intensive English

Single or multiple week curriculum options.

Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Courses for students looking to improve their skills in English. Aiglon uses interactive games and collaborative classroom projects to engage students and develop language skills. The mother tongue of the Summer School is English, so students have a high level of exposure to English during their stay - we find that this makes for enjoyable learning alongside activities and new experiences.

Intensive French

Single or multiple week curriculum options.

Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Courses for students looking to improve their skills in French. Aiglon uses interactive games and collaborative classroom projects to engage students and develop language skills. The mother tongue of the local region is French, and part of the french course is exploring the local area using french skills learnt at Aiglon. The Summer School also has a French social evening where all students learning French come together to practise new skills with the french speaking staff. We find that enjoyable learning alongside activities and new experiences is a brilliant way for students to absorb a language!

Maths & Science Investigator Course

Two week curriculum option only.

Weeks 1 & 2, starting 27 June - Places available

Weeks 3 & 4, starting 11 July - Places available

Weeks 5 & 6, starting 25 July - Places available

The Maths and Science investigator course is perfect for students that have many questions of why and how things happen! Students build a course folder of activities which range from rocket building and robot programming to mountain science and botany. The course is hands on and interactive - a great new extension to the Summer School. Recommended for students that have intermediate English and above.

Performing Arts Course

Two week curriculum option only.

Weeks 1 & 2, starting 27 June - Places available

The Performing arts course is ideal for students that love to be on the stage! Script creation, costume planning, coaching on performance skills, film making and editing - all culminating in a performance to the whole summer school. An exciting course that will develop confidence in students! Recommended for students that have intermediate English and above.

Switzerland Explorer Course

One week curriculum, available as an extension to a 2 or 3 week course at Summer School.

A new morning course to teach students about Switzerland's geography and culture. Students will explore the local community learning about how cheese and chocolate are made, visiting salt mines, and experiencing the varied mountain geography such as gorges and waterfalls. For intermediate English and above.

Aiglon has the perfect setting for a leadership course, using the school campus and mountains to learn important leadership skills. The course has an exciting structure which varies from body language and public speaking skills to team challenges, map reading and orienteering, Recommended for students that have intermediate English and above.

Business and Entrepreneurship Course

Two week curriculum option only.

A new course to develop entrepreneurial thinking! Students will learn how to develop and present new business ideas using business principles and strategy. The course will also focus on public speaking, how to write a CV and application letter, body language, team building and negotiation skills. Students will have a 2 day (overnight) visit to a Swiss city to explore the culture and sites of interest. In addition students will also take part in an Aiglon expedition, and experience a night in the mountains, staying in a mountain hut. For students with intermediate English or above.

Leadership and Mountain Adventure Course

Two week curriculum option only.

Weeks 1 & 2, starting 27 June - Places available

Aiglon has the perfect setting for a leadership course, using the school campus and the surrounding mountain environment. This course teaches the key elements of leadership, and includes some classroom theoretical learning which will then be taken and practiced outdoors. The course has a varied structure from camp craft and survival skills to body language and public speaking to team challenges, map reading, orienteering and climbing. There is an overnight camping expedition as part of the course, and also an overnight mountain expedition, where students will hike and spend a night in a mountain hut. This active course is recommended for students that have intermediate English and above.

SAT Preparation Course

One week curriculum option only. (Week 6, 1st - 7th August)

Want to enjoy Aiglon's Eagle Programme, but also conscious that summertime is important for SAT or ACT preparation? Aiglon offers a special SAT and ACT preparation course in conjunction with "The Eagle" programme. Join Aiglon's Summer School, and spend one week (3 - 9 August) immersed in the specialised SAT & ACT preparation course. Students may also attend the Summer School for only this course.

Please note that this course is intensive - SAT preparation sessions will run in the morning and evening. Students are able to join a Summer School afternoon activity during this week, or if they wish, attend a supervised SAT study session in the afternoon.
