We love seeing Aiglon students using their own free time to live-out the guiding principles! Zuzy gives us an update on a mini service project a few of the Exeter girls joined last Saturday.
"On Saturday 9th December, Najeeba, Sasha, Francesca, Mr. Crew, and I volunteered at Soupe Populaire. This is an organization that collects any spare or unsold food from restaurants, stores, super markets, etc. The aim is to provide some warm drinks and meals for people who are having a troubled time, homeless, refugees, and many more. We volunteered for around 4 hours, serving the food for around 200-300 people. It was such a unique experience. We definitely did not expect such an amount of people, and according to the staff that’s not that much.
It was a truly incredible experience, but saddening at the same time. It as a shock to see how many people are actually in need of basic necessities such as food and drinks. It’s something we believe should be done more often, in order for people to truly realize what’s happening and how volunteering for 4 hours can make such a difference."
