St Louis is Aiglon's most recent boarding house, opening at the beginning of last academic year. For this week's #aiglonhousefeature, the Goffs share with us a taste of life in St Louis.
The boys have now completed their first week back after half term and Cultural Long Expeditions; it is good to catch up with them all and hear of their adventures, from literally all over the world. Happily, the St Louis family is now back together again and many exciting events lie ahead over the coming days and weeks. We are looking forward to building on our success in the Inter House football on the basketball court, completing IAs, Extended Essays, ToK essays, going on the House Outing, taking part in Christmas festivities and consuming Mrs Goff’s baking.
The “St Louis on Sunday” continues to be a great hit, teaching the boys those all-important life skills from “how to wash your socks by hand in a hotel room when you realise you have no clean socks for that all-important meeting tomorrow” to “how to fold a shirt correctly”, “how to cook perfect scrambled eggs”, “bed making” and other key life skills.
The House expedition to Annecy and the Gorges du Fier was memorable for all the right reasons, even though the weather was not particularly kind, the cycle path we planned to take was closed and the lake rather chilly for swimming. All the boys enjoyed the opportunity to go down the zip wire – at great speed – and the barbecue was enjoyed by all.
