28 June - 02 July 2019: Come back to the mountain for Aiglon's 70th. Visit our site for more details.
Two Clairmont students share their perspectives on what it is like to be new at Aiglon, and what it is like to come back after the summer!
Ioana is a new Year 12 student:
When I first walked in campus… I loved the fact that it was an open campus. In my old school there was only one building, and the fact that here you can breathe fresh air between the classes made me very excited! Everyone was smiling and was very friendly, so then I stopped being scared.
When I walked into the house I first thought… I came the evening before to the house because I could not wait to see where I was going to live. I helped Ms. López and the house captain to prepare the house for welcoming all the students. I loved it!
The first person I saw was… Somphors, the House Captain.
The first impression of the girl I share the room with was… She is lovely! Very friendly and supportive.
My favourite thing about the house… The whole atmosphere. I know that I have people to talk with when I am going through tough moments.
I am looking forward to this year… To take advantage of the beautiful surrounding and of course to ski! I can’t wait to ski in the Swiss Alps!
The best of being new… Is discovering many amazing things for the first time.
Luma is a returning Year 11 student:
When I first walked on campus… I was very happy to see all my friends again because I missed them in summer and it was very nice to see all the new faces. It felt like walking back home.
When I walked into the house I first thought… I screamed at Ms. López because I was so happy to see her! We had been together in Rwanda over the summer on a service project, and one of the best things about Aiglon is the relationships that you build with your teachers. Also, it was lovely to meet all the new girls in my year group. Many new faces!
The first person I saw was… Kritee, the Deputy House Captain.
The first impression of the girl I share the room with was… I loved the fact that she was very chill. We did not know each other and now she is one of my best friend. I love her sense of humour, and her French accent!
I am looking forward to this year… Attending another Service Project such as Chile because I learnt so much and they are very inspiring.
The best thing of already knowing the school… Is to see all your friends back from summer holidays.
