28 June - 02 July 2019: Come back to the mountain for Aiglon's 70th. Book your tickets today!
At the start of the Theory of Knowledge (TOK) curriculum all of Year 12 go to one of the great European cities - this year the choice was Barcelona or Florence.
Albert Einstein claimed, "Learning is experience, everything else is just information," and so we headed out to Barcelona with the explicit aim of providing contextual experience to their TOK learning. We spent three days in Barcelona, discovering Picasso, Gaudi and Miro's work.
We also enjoyed walks up to Montjuic, boat rides around the harbour and scavenger hunts in the Barri Gotic to provide different perspectives of the city. There was also lots of time for students to explore the city by themselves.
On their return to Aiglon the students must curate a mini-exhibition using different artefacts that they have discovered in Barcelona to represent a knowledge question or issue.
We hope the students found the new art and the meanings they constructed challenging and inspiring!
