2019 Mountain Marathon
Over the weekend, 16 students participated in Aiglon's Mountain Marathon, a charity challenge as part of Aiglon's Round Square initiatives.
"The snow on the ground made for a really challenging and exhausting day out for everyone and I was blown away by the spirit and enthusiasm of the whole team," says Mr Fairweather, Aiglon's Round Square Coordinator and marathon participant.
Five students completed the full 42km (with 1500m of ascent and descent) while seven completed a 21km section and five more joined for the final (and very snowy) 14km. The course was made up of local trails and routes through the mountains that students know well from expeditions and skiing.
Alongside the students, eight members of staff also participated.
The students are raising money which will be distributed amongst the Aiglon service projects, which provided an extra level of motivation when running through the snow.
