For their house update, Clairmont talks about the recent dinner they hosted for Valentine's Day.
The annual Clairmont Valentine’s Dinner is a charity event organised by Clairmont. All girls have the opportunity to invite a date for a fun and romantic dinner. Kritee (Year 13) tells us about the evening:
Walking into the Hall, the transformation was evident. Red walls, a grand piano in the front of the room, Dirty Dancing playing on the projector screen and candle-lit, rose-filled, red table cloth covered tables all complemented each other to ensure the atmosphere of the night was perfect.
Backing up a few hours, the hall was, well, normal. As some Clairmont girls walked in with about five large bags filled with decorations, sweets, tablecloths, fairy lights and everything else needed to give the setting the redesign it needed for the night. With a few girls blowing balloons, others hanging curtains at the door and others setting up and decorating tables setting up seemed joyful, yet, efficient.
As the clock struck 6:30 pm, Clairmont girls, along with their dates started trickling in. The routine to follow was set up smoothly- a picture taken in the elegantly decorated photo booth while hyped up by friends and the girls in charge of taking the pictures. Dinner was served by Clairmont volunteers with a shared chocolate cake for dessert.
“The photo booth- I died” -Polina S. (Year 11)
The aura filled with quiet murmurs and laughter was only amplified as Anju from Year 10 went to the front of the room to perform a few songs on the piano accompanied by her majestic and flawless voice. The opportunity to dance was taken by several girls to the romantic songs being performed.
“Anju did a lovely performance and the Caesar salad was on point” -Ondine (Year 12)
“It was the best EVER” -Dasha (Year 13)
It was the perfect end to the night and beginning of the weekend as each girl left the hall with a wide smile on their face and a strengthened feeling of family within Clairmont.
“It was one of those moments where I felt like the house really worked together to create something absolutely beautiful” -Ioana (Year 12)
