We are excited to announce the launch of a new project, the Aiglon Meditation Podcast! For the first time digitally, we are working to capture the unique tradition of Aiglon's regular morning assembly, the Meditation.
Meditation has resided at the core of Aiglon life since the school’s inception, a driving aspect of our daily activities and rooted in our guiding principles. John Corlette considered a structured meditative practice to be essential to the development of students and faculty alike and worked to instil methods to best inspire and enrich the whole student. Even today, his approach remains relevant in our daily life and practice.
If you would like to learn more about the Aiglon Meditation, you can read more about its history and practise on our website.
Knowing that many Aiglonians (past and present, students and staff) remember and resonate with this foundational dimension of the Aiglon experience, we wanted to find a way to share this unique part of Aiglon's history and ongoing tradition.
In time for Aiglon's 70th Anniversary, this new podcast will include current teachers and students who agree to have their meditation recorded. (Not all do wish to be recorded, and we fully respect the special nature of this practise as something intended only for a particular audience.) In addition to these live recordings, the podcast will also include "archived" meditations --old addresses given by staff or students in years past that have been written down, and can be read and recorded in studio. We invite all alumni and alumni staff to submit material that they would like to see included.
We hope that this new project resonates with the many who have come to appreciate this special gathering of Aiglon's community. As we produce more episodes of new and old content, we fully expect that different styles and eras of meditations will resonate differently with our wide community. We encourage everyone to listen with an open mind to what we hope will evolve into a rich archive of contemplation and reflection that demonstrates the common thread of Aiglon's enduring spirit across generations.
The podcast is available in all the places you listen to your podcasts. Season 1 is now partially availalbe, with the remaining episodes planned for regular release.
The Aiglon Meditation Podcast is produced by Ashley Norton and Seth Barker.
