Aiglon’s YouTube channel has grown into an exciting representation of life on the mountain.
Since ‘The Aiglon Video Series’ was launched in January 2018 over 40 videos have been added, highlighting the many experiences of an Aiglon education. With a mix of official school films and student produced videos, the Aiglon YouTube channel gives a true insight into our school.
We have just eclipsed 50’000 views since that first video in January 2018, which gives us the opportunity to revisit some of our favourite films.
Current Aiglon Guardians Eloy (Spain) and Sylvia (Singapore) have both been at Aiglon since Junior School, and there could be no one better than these two to share their favourite Aiglon videos with us.
To celebrate reaching 50’000 views, we recently asked them to select some of their favourite Aiglon YouTube films, and they were more than happy to oblige!
Welcome to Aiglon Eloy explains why they both chose this as one of their favourites: ‘It really portrays what life is like at Aiglon. The video shows the life of a true Aiglonian, from the challenges to the respect and appreciation of friendships, house life and the overall environment in school. I really feel like I can relate to it and it reminds me of all the good memories I have made at Aiglon.’
Thank you from the Scholars - Seba CZ Scholar Patrick Wachira and The Class of 2019 Each felt strongly about the messages from our graduating scholars, with Sylvia saying: ‘This video fills me with happiness knowing that scholarship students are having the best time and that they are being fully welcomed and integrated into the Aiglon community.’ Eloy agreed, highlighting his pride at seeing ‘how our scholarship program at Aiglon succeeds and changes lives.’
Aiglon Rwanda Service Project 2018 & 2019 Both enjoyed the student made Rwanda films, as Eloy explains; ’Service is one of the biggest elements in our school. There are no barriers for us Aiglonians! I love the reflections given by the students. It really shows how these trips are so meaningful and are able to change personas!’
Sylvia agrees, ‘It is heartening to see the genuine joyful interactions between our students and the students in Rwanda.’
Home From our original video series, Sylvia loved how ‘it showcases more of our gorgeous campus, but it also pulls you in deeper with individual students telling you about their experiences in Aiglon, which I can relate to. I appreciate this video more as I'm graduating soon, and I know in the future that I will look back at Aiglon and feel the same things that they expressed in this video.’
Aiglon Yr 13 Glacier Ex 2019 Another student made selection, Sylvia explained that ‘It shows the experiences of going on an expedition and enjoying nature, as well as learning about geographical landforms, showing how Aiglon integrates fun into learning.’
Thank you to Sylvia and Eloy for sharing their favourite selections. Subscribe to The Aiglon YouTube Channel for more insight into life on the mountain!
