Our Campus

This is life – lived on, and up, the mountain.

Our environment is vital to development. Aiglonians discover that our unique mountaintop position provides a fresh perspective while offering continual opportunities for challenge. Mountains have always represented ambition to humanity, a call to push harder, higher than we could have imagined possible. Our students and faculty only have to look out of the window to be inspired.

Our life here is inherently healthy, invigorating and inspiring — just on their way to the next classroom, Aiglonians climb hills and gaze at views that would impress seasoned hikers. That helps us to create an atmosphere not just of achievement, but also of challenge. We occupy a place where staff and students — together — push themselves to ever greater heights.

LET AN AIGLON SPACE

360º Virtual Tour

We invite you to explore our unique alpine campus. Navigate through teaching and boarding facilities via the arrows and learn more about the history of each location using the icons.

Combining purpose-built spaces with renovated traditional buildings and chalets, the Swiss boarding school campus at Aiglon is like no other.

The Campus Tour Video

Filmed on a misty late winter day, the Aiglon campus video was rushed into production just before the 2020 pandemic changed all of our lives. However, despite the weather and the tense global situation, your campus tour guides, Ding-Ding and Miranda, offer prospective visitors an upbeat tour of our facilities. This tour is one of the most popular ways to explore all our campus has to offer.

Aiglon Chapel

The Villars English Church was completed in 1883 and is one of the most historic buildings in the village. The Anglican chapel was built primarily for visitors as the region developed an international reputation.

While Aiglon is not religiously affiliated, the church has long been a significant space for students and staff. A short walk from the main campus, Aiglon purchased the church, renaming it the Aiglon Chapel in 1996. Since that time, it has continued to host local religious services as well as weddings, funerals and special concerts and events.

The interior was recently renovated, and the school welcomes private bookings. You can learn more by contacting enterprise@aiglon.ch.

Schoolshop
The School Shop

Whether a student needs a last-minute uniform item, visiting alumni are after a souvenir, or teachers need to pick up their stationery orders –the Aiglon School Shop is undeniably a campus nerve centre.

The School Shop team also operates a second-hand clothing store and the impressive start-of-year Uniform Fair. The School Shop is located in the Tony Jashanmal Sports Centre.

CFEclassroom
Centre for Enquiry

When the school renovated its library space, we changed the concept from simply a place where books are kept to the more apt, Centre for Enquiry. The name stuck as it is reflective of all the different learning that takes place in this special space.

Students and teachers mingle together during coffee breaks, students can find a quiet "pod" to get some individual work done, or you might be in class in one of the creative learning spaces. Or even better, you could be building a robot or computer in our dedicated "maker space" equipped with 3D printers!

Aiglon Expeditions Stall
Expeditions Store

One of the most impressive sights on campus, the Aiglon Expeditions Store is the headquarters of Aiglon's expeditions team. Filled floor to ceiling with specialised equipment for all seasons, it is here where Aiglon's famous expeditions team makes all the needed preparations for each weekend.

Aiglonfitnesssuite
Fitness Suite

Located in the Tony Jashanmal Sports Centre, the Fitness Suite is a popular destination. No matter the weather outside, students have the opportunity to stay fit or train all year round. Overseen by our professional staff team, students always have experts on hand to ensure they are getting the best workout and staying safe while doing so.

Music Recording Studio
Recording Studio

While all of our music facilities and practice rooms are significant, there is something extra special about the recording studio. With state-of-the-art equipment, students and staff alike take advantage of this learning space to record their band or even take private DJ lessons!

Aiglonlaundry
Aiglon Laundry

Invisible to almost all students and staff, Aiglon's dedicated laundry team work around the clock to clean and sort over 400 students' clothes every week. Every student is assigned a laundry number to ensure they get back their own items. It's an impressive operation but a core need for a busy boarding school.
