Art Department Trip, London
Date: November 2019
The Art trip to London is a wonderful opportunity for our students to see some of the world's most iconic artwork up close and personal. Nothing beats being in front of the real thing in this day and age of online absorption. Seeing the work of great masters and contemporary artists side by side reminds us that it is vital to engage with the real world. You can't help but marvel at the sheer magnitude and excellence of what you see.
Our Art students work hard on the trip and will come back with ideas and insights that emerge throughout their creative journey ahead. In the words of Henri Matisse, 'Creativity takes courage' and that is what we ask students to come armed with.
We plan to take in world-renowned galleries such as The Tate Modern, The Victoria and Albert Museum, The Saatchi Gallery, White Cube, and the Textiles Museum.
The Trip will be led by Mr Pete Willett and takes place from 21st to 24th November. The trip is open to IB Art students in Year 12 and 13.
