Aiglon will offer for the first time a service trip to Easter Island, a remote volcanic island in Polynesia as part of Chile. The trip will also include a short visit to the Atacama desert in the north of this long and thin country of South America.
The selected group will depart from school on Friday, 28 June and will fly to the capital, Santiago. They will spend two days visiting the city and the key historical sites. On Sunday 30 June they will depart to Easter Island which is a six hour flight. There, they will carry out four days of service project with the local community, as well as visiting Rano Raraku National Park to see the Moais and the place in which they were made; they will catch the sunrise from the iconic Tongariki; they will enjoy some beach time at Anakena Beach and take in a traditional Rapa Nui dance.
The students will return to Santiago on Sunday, 7 July in order to fly to the north of Chile, Calama and visit San Pedro de Atacama. In this area they will see some of the most stunning views on the planet. They will visit the active geysers, lagoons renowned for their intense colours, breathtaking salt flats and slide down the dunes on a sandboard as well as visiting the Valley of the Moon at sunset.
The students will depart on Friday 12 July arriving to Geneva on Saturday, 13 July.
