Thailand Ecology Trip

Date: Winter Half Term | 8 - 17 February 2019

For the past 2 years Aiglon students have completed a CAS project in the Maldives. The trip was run in collaboration with a team of Year 12 and 13 students who used the planning of the trip as part of their IB CAS requirement. A new team of Year 12 and 13 students have developed the project by including extensive environmental service and marine ecology. The trip will be based on Koh Chang, Thailand where we have secured the services of a PADI 5* CDC Instructor training center.

Students can complete courses in:

  • PADI Open Water
  • PADI Advanced Open Water
  • PADI Eco Diver Reef Check
  • PADI Nitrox
  • PADI Wreck Diver
  • PADI Project Aware
  • PADI Dive Against Debris

Students engage with issues of global significance including: global warming, coral bleaching, plastic pollution and their impact on coral reef ecosystems. We also teaching students how to conduct a marine survey of a coral reef and look to secure the long term survival of this vibrant underwater ecosystem.

The all-inclusive cost of the trip, including equipment hire & PADI training, depends on the level of diving certificate held by the student. The cost ranges from CHF 4500 to 5000.

This trip is FULL. There are no more places available.
